East Bourne was the abode of Col Auchenlock, who later became the Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial British army and is  resplendent in its historic past. Its fragnant and colourful rose garden and lush velvet green lawns have all long been part of Shimla's history. The resort is cradled amongst hundred of years old oak and deodar trees and has the added advantage of sun from dusk to dawn around the year. Easily accessible by road, the resort is away from the hustle and bustle of the main town but well within driving distance of the main town, railway station and the airport.
