Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India Kullu, " the Valley of the Gods", has a unique charm. Long regard by the ancient Hindus as the furthest limit of human habitation - Kulantapitha - its original name is mentioned even in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Kullu is famous for its Dussehra celebrations as also for its Red Delicious, Royal Delicious and Golden Delicious apples. Each season has its special charm as do the helpful and charming people of this valley.

Located in Himachal Pradesh, Kullu is a small town located by the banks of River Beas. Tourists to Manali include a trip to the nearby town of Kullu as well. But few people know that this little town has all the pleasures of a hill station sans the crowds and the noise. Clean air, cold winds, meandering lanes, scenic hills and the mandatory deodars with the sun shining through. It is also the ideal base for exploring the rest of the Kullu Valley with its scenic towns and villages tucked comfortably on every curve of the valley's slope.

By Air : The nearest airport Bhuntar (10 kms from Kullu) is connected by Vayudoot services with Delhi and Chandigarh. Jagson & Continental Airlines also operates flights from Delhi to Kullu

By Rail : The nearest most convenient railhead is Chandigarh (272 kms). The other nearest narrow gauge railheads are Jogindarnagar (166 kms) with a change at Pathankot and Shimla (240 kms) with a change at Kalka.
