Saguna
baug is a 55-acre farm with various agricultural activities such
as agro forestry, dairy, aquaculture, agro tourism, horticulture,
traditional and non-traditional farming. Farm is located at
Neral-Malegoan which is equal distance front Pune and Mumbai (Apxox.
100 KM). Many people visit Saguna baug for various reasons such as many
farmers visit to get information on agricultural activities Urban
people visit for information on farm house development as well as for
unique leasure learning experience in Agrotourism. Arotourism is a
leisure learning and entertaining activity organized by the farmer in
the rural area where farming is a major permanent activity according

Dormitories :
Dorms Provide basic accommodation, rooms are self-contained and has
capacity of 15 people each. Rooms don't have A.C., T.V., & telephones.
Four of such rooms are situated in a row. |

Cottages : These
Individual cottages are situated close to pond and are best suited for
small family groups. Each cottage is self-contained and has maximum
capacity of 5-8 people. Cottages don't have A.C., T.V., & telephones.

Pond-House :
Pond house has 2 rooms each with the capacity of 5-6 people maximum.
Complete house is situated in the pond and is accessible by small
bridge. Rooms don't have A.C., T.V., & telephones. |

Activities :
Tour of our farm : It is a leisure
learning process which includes information on our farm activities,Our
departments, products, experiments in farming, medicinal plants,etc.
Fish Farming : We have 6 ponds with various types of fish which
we usually show to our guests and provide information about the same.
WB Ride (buffalow ride) : This is the most unique fearure of
our farm where we let people sit on safe water buffalow and give them
a memorable experince which is usualy experinced only by the rural
youth
Dairy : This is one of the oldest departments of our farm.We
have gober gas plant connected to dairy which provides cooking fuel to
our kitchen.Patting dairy animals and milking the cow is a wonderful
expeince to most of the urban folks.Informatin on gobar gas becomes
vital for many college and school youths who visit our farm.
Gardening and Farming : People come to our farm to enjoy
natural ambiance.Some of them like to work in the farm by actually
dirtying their hands in mud and participating in our farm activities
which acts as "a change".
Swimming : We have a restless river, which is untouched by
industrial pollution and flowes 12 monthes with nice and clean
water.Supervised swimming is enjoyed by all.
Optional Activities : Following activities can be arranged
according to the prevailing conditions and availability.

be arranged from our side but on your risk and money.

early morning hours.

adventures activities can be arranged at your risk and money.

rainy season.

Adiwasi folk dance

Agriculture : Various plants, Fruits and vegetables are
made available to our guests Just before leaving farm.
Aquaculture :
We have 3 types of carps,
1. Rohu (Labia), 2. Carla, 3. Cyprenus (Chinese carp)
Agro forestry :

Safety Majors :
Every Person coming to Saguna baug should understand that they are
visiting a agricultural farm. Some insects and animals are common and
are part of farm. Basic first aid is available at farm but it is
always advisable to bring mosquito and insect repellent, some
painkillers and band-aids.
Trained locals supervise swimming and water current of Ulhas River is
safe to swim. In rains trained locals guide the way through the
waterfall.

bridge) --> Konkan Bhavan --> kalamboli --> Take Express way --> Exit at
shedung/khopoli (within 10 mins) --> Old highway --> Towards khopoli -->
about 10 mins (aprox 12 KM) --> Karjat Phata --> Turn left (8 KM to Karjat)
--> Left turn (14 KM) to neral --> Enter Neral --> right turn at Ambika
Naka-Railway crossing-Kalamb road --> (4 KM)-Pass small bridge then big
bridge --> (Aprox 200 Meters after big bridge)-Sign board to the left-
Saguna Baug/Malegoan --> Turn left --> (aprox 1 KM)Nisarg Niketan (Saguna
Baug).
Pune- Neral By road
Pune-Express way --> Take non toll exit (At centre of Ghat) to Khopoli -->
Old Highway to Mumbai --> Aprox 15 KM to Karjat Phata/Hal Phata --> Right
turn to Karjat (8 KM) --> Turn Left To Neral --> (Apxox 14 KM) --> Enter
Neral --> Turn Right At Ambik Naka-railway crossing-Kalamb road --> Pass
small bridge then big bridge --> (Aprox 200 Meters After big bridge)-Sign
board to the left-Saguna Baug/Malegoan --> Turn left --> (aprox 1 KM)
